What Salt Lake County could gain with a ‘Main Line’ bike route

One of our first campaigns is to identify, design and build a high-comfort bike route from Downtown Salt Lake City to Murray on Main Street and West Temple.

That sort of urban, on-street connection is rare in Utah, but it’s within reach.

The Main Line would be an 8-mile bike route passing through eight towns along the way. In each of those towns, a recent building boom has added thousands of housing units. Thousands of employees work in big and small businesses along the way. There are stores, restaurants and bars the entire length.

Salt Lake City and South Salt Lake are working together on designing routes on both Main Street and 200 East. We’re working on organizing the coordination with Millcreek and Murray so that this can truly be a regional amenity.
