Join us for the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, Sunday, November 17th

Sweet Streets, along with partner organizations Bike Utah and Spin, will be hosting an event for the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDoR) on Sunday, November 17th. The WDoR is a global event including dozens of demonstrations across the US. The goal is to draw attention to the devastating cost of crashes and to advocate for proven strategies to decrease risk of death or injury, such as redesigning our streets to keep all users safe and to reduce vehicle speed.

The event will be held at Liberty Park from 4-6 PM and will include tabling from supporting organizations, an opportunity to contribute to a sidewalk chalk memorial, speakers, and a walk and candlelight vigil to a recent crash site near 700 S 700 E. More information will be forthcoming, but save the date!

This year’s theme reminds us that our streets can be redesigned to prevent death and injury.
