Third Annual Bike Walk SLC

The third annual Bike/Walk SLC will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2024. Join Sweet Streets for low-stress walking and biking through Salt Lake City, with meetups and pit stops and the finest folks around.

MORNING BIKE RIDE
10 a.m. Meet on the east side of North Temple Frontrunner Station, near the Hardware apartments. We'll have refreshments and time to chat before the ride takes off at 10:30 a.m. It will make its way through the west side to Central Pointe Trax station, visiting the Jordan River Parkway, the Emery Neighborhood Byway and the new Parley's Trail bridge at 900 West. This portion of the ride is roughly 7 miles.

CENTRAL POINTE STATION MEETUP
12 p.m. Gather at the east side of Central Pointe Trax Station near the Commonwealth Room and Egg Break. There are some food options in the area, or bring your own picnic items to share. Members of the Sweet Streets board will be available to answer questions about the projects and campaigns coming up around the city.

WALKING TOUR—Hosted by Bryant Heath, aka SLSees!
At 12:30 p.m., a walking tour will depart from Central Pointe Station and make its way up the S-Line Trail to Monument Plaza, exploring the murals, pocket parks and transit connections that are changing both Salt Lake City and South Salt Lake for the sweeter. The walking tour is roughly 2 miles.

AFTERNOON BIKE RIDE
At 12:30 p.m., an afternoon bike tour will depart from Central Pointe station and loop through the city, visiting the new 300 West Cycle Track, the 9-Line Trail, Central 9th, Liberty Park, new bike lanes on 1100 East and the McClelland trail before reuniting with the walking tour at Sugar House's Monument plaza. This portion of the ride is roughly 7 miles.

Please note that while the routes were designed to be as comfortable as possible, we will be crossing busy roads and riding on some street segments that don't have low-stress dedicated bike space. Ideally, we'll have power in numbers, which creates a sense of safety. But please consider your comfort level and the possible risks before attending.

Join for the whole day or just a little bit. RSVP on Facebook, and don’t forget to invite your friends! Interested in volunteering? Complete our volunteer interest form.
