Second Annual Bike Walk SLC

Join us for the second annual Sweet Streets Bike/Walk tour of Salt Lake City. This year, we'll highlight some of the streets that we want Salt Lake City to prioritize for a Neighborhood Byway network. Come for a portion or join us for the full ride. Details and map are below.

MORNING BIKE RIDE

10 a.m. Meet at the International Peace Gardens. We'll have refreshments and time to chat before the ride takes off at 10:30 a.m. It will make its way to the Green Loop demonstration project at 350 S. 200 E. Downtown. This portion of the ride is 5 miles.

GREEN LOOP MEETUP

12 p.m. Gather at the Green Loop demonstration project at approximately 350 S. 200 E. There will be food trucks and you can bring your own picnic items to share. Members of the Sweet Streets board will be distributing 20 is Plenty yard signs, have swag available for purchase, and answer questions about the projects and campaigns coming up around the city.

There will be food trucks!

AFTERNOON BIKE RIDE

At 1 p.m., an afternoon tour will ride on the 200 East byway, the 9-Line trail, the 800 East byway, the Kensington byway, and McClelland Trail, ending in Sugar House near Monument Plaza. This portion of the ride is 4 miles.

WALKING TOUR with Emily Means of City Cast SLC

In addition to the east side ride, we'll have a walking tour that meets at the Green Loop and makes its way around Downtown, exploring the ways our city’s busiest streets are set to change for the sweeter.

The tour starts at 1 p.m. at the Green Loop pop-up and is open to people of all ages and abilities.

Please note that while the routes were designed to be as comfortable as possible, we will be crossing busy roads and riding streets that don't have low-stress dedicated bike space. Ideally, we'll have power in numbers, which creates a sense of safety. But please consider your comfort level and the possible risks before attending.

Check out the routes!
