200 South Corridor

The people have spoken.
We want a transit corridor.

200 South is more than just a street.

It is a transit corridor, complete street, Downtown transit hub and a place to remember. Join us in our fight for improvements the city is proposing:
• The first dedicated bus-only lane in the city and a new transit hub.
• Protected lanes for people on bicycles, skateboards, scooters and other personal mobility devices.
• Emphasis on urban design and the pedestrian experience.

Here’s how you can help make it a reality.

Where Things Stand.

This project is fully funded and has plenty of momentum at the city. Survey respondents told the city they want to see transit-only lanes on 200 South. The two options with dedicated bus lanes and protected bike lanes were by far the most supported options.

Sweet Streets will work to ensure the city’s final design — released later in 2021 — reflects the transit-first transformation people asked for.

Read the survey results here.

How You Can Help.

The last time the city tried to change the lane configuration on 200 South by installing a protected bike lane, business owners along the way were influential in killing the project (which moved to 300 South).

Motorists who use 200 South may also protest having vehicle-only lanes reallocated for use by people in buses and on bikes/scooters.
